There are many weapons available for the player to use, including several different types of guns and grenades. The game utilizes the same hybrid first/third-person combat system seen in Human Revolution, with the camera moving to third-person whenever Jensen is pressed against cover.

Due to their untested and unauthorized nature, the player must deactivate one of Jensen's original augmentations in order to use one of these. In addition to most of the augmentations from Human Revolution, several new 'experimental' augmentations are available. These augmentations give Jensen abilities such as turning invisible, strength to lift heavy objects, and hacking into higher-level terminals.
